GREEN TOMATO RELISH | |
3 1/2 lbs. green tomatoes 12 med. onions 1 c. salt 4 c. white vinegar 12 sweet peppers 6 c. sugar 1 tsp. allspice 1 tsp. dry mustard Grind vegetables and sprinkle with salt. Let stand 4 hours. Drain well and wash in colander. Let vinegar, sugar and spices come to a boil in a large kettle and add vegetables and boil 10 minutes. Seal in sterilized jars. Makes about 7 1/2 pints. |
