SAUERKRAUT CAKE | |
3/4 c. butter 3 eggs 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. cocoa 1 c. water 1 (8 oz.) can sauerkraut - drained, rinsed and finely chopped Mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture with the water. Stir in sauerkraut. Bake in 9 x 13 pan at 350 degrees 35-40 minutes. SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE FROSTING: 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips 4 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt Powdered sugar Melt chocolate chips and butter over low heat. Remove from heat; blend in sour cream, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add powdered sugar (about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 cups) until spreading consistency. Beat well. |
