APPLE FRITTERS 
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk plus 1 tbsp.
1 1/2 c. apples, chopped

Sift dry ingredients together. Beat egg and add milk. Pour into dry ingredients. Stir until batter is smooth. Pare apples and dice or slice very thin. Add apples and batter. Blend together. Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot fat (370 to 375 degrees). Fry until golden brown on all sides. Makes 12-15 fritters.
