SAUCEPAN BROWNIES 
1 stick butter (1/4 lb.)
2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
1 tsp. double-acting baking powder
3 eggs

Melt butter with chocolate in saucepan on low heat setting on an electric range. Remove from heat. Add all ingredients, except eggs and blend well. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Pour in a greased 9 x 9 pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350°F. Cool and cut into small squares.
