2 sticks butter, softened 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 eggs, separated 3 1/4 c. cake flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 qt. pecan pieces 1 tsp. each of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 tsp. hot water 1 pt. mixed candied fruit 3 tbsp. dry sherry Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks; flour and spices which have been sifted together, saving 1/2 cup to dust fruit and nuts. Add this to creamed mixture. Fold in beaten egg whites and sherry. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 5 dozen. |
