2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 sticks butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 c. rolled oats (not instant)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 sm. pkg. chocolate bits

Sift together and set aside the sifted flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Blend together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs, beat until light. Add flour mixture, mix well. Add rolled oats, vanilla, and chocolate bits. Dough should be crumbly. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes, or until cookies are golden. Remove to waxed paper while warm. Can be divided and frozen in separate plastic bags.
