OLD FASHIONED POUND CAKE | |
1 lb. butter 1 lb. sifted cake flour 10 eggs, separated 2 tsp. baking powder 1 lb. sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt Cream butter; blend in flour and baking powder until mixture is mealy. Beat egg yolks, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add to first mixture gradually, beating 15 minutes. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Beat until well blended. Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans. Bake in slow oven 325 degrees approximately one hour. |
