APPLE PIE 
Pastry for top & bottom of pie
3/4 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. flour (or 1 1/2 tbsp. tapioca)
3 tbsp. butter
5 1/2 med. apples, cut in lg slices
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Line a 9" pie pan with pastry. Mix sugar, cinnamon, flour and salt and combine with apple slices. Pour into pastry and dot with butter. Cover with top crust. Poke a few holes in the top. I sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mixture on top, too. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Cover edges of crust with strips of foil before baking, to prevent over browning.
