SPICE BARS 
2 c. raisins
2 c. water
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Boil 2 cups raisins in 2 cups water until 1/2 to 1 cup water left. Drain raisins. While juice is still warm mix with the rest of the ingredients. Add raisins and spread in 2 greased pans about 9 x 13 x 1 1/2 inches. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes. Frost while warm.

FROSTING:

Brown:

Add: 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream to proper spreading consistency, cut in bars when cool.
