CHOCOLATE CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. bread cubes
1 qt. milk, scalded
2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 to 4 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. raisins

Melt chocolate in scalded milk and beat with hand mixer until blended. Add the bread cubes to the milk. Beat the eggs slightly and the sugar and salt and mix thoroughly. Gradually stir in the scalded milk mixture, vanilla, nutmeg, raisins and butter.

Pour into greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish set in a pan of warm water. Bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes, or until a silver knife inserted in center comes out clean.
