APRICOT DATE NUT BREAD 
3/4 cup pitted dates, chopped
3/4 cup dried apricots, chopped
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1 3/4 cups boiling water
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Place dates, apricots, baking soda, sugar, and butter in a bowl. Pour the boiling water over the mixture and let it stand until cool. When cool, add the eggs, flour and nuts.

Pour into 2 (8 x 4 1/2 inch) loaf pans lined with greased wax paper. Proportions of dates and apricots can be varied to taste.

Bake in preheated oven for 60-90 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
