CHOCOLATE-PEANUT BUTTER BARS | |
PREPARE THE BASE: 1 c. sugar 1 stick butter 1 c. flour 1 c. oats Dash of vanilla 1 egg Combine ingredients and press onto a greased cookie sheet as though you were spreading pizza dough. Bake at 350 degrees until brown but not hard (about 8 minutes). FOR THE CHOCOLATE LAYER: While base is hot, pour a 12 ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips onto the base. Let melt and spread the chocolate to the corners of the base. Let cool. FOR THE GLAZE: 2/3 c. powdered sugar 1 tbsp. peanut butter Cream together until a slightly thick consistency. Adjust sugar and peanut butter to taste. Add a bit of milk to achieve spreading consistency, if necessary. Drizzle glaze over top of the bars and spread evenly. Cut into bars when glaze has hardened. |
