LAYERED CASSEROLE 
4 med. potatoes
6 carrots
2 med. onions
3/4 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. pork sausage
1 sm. can tomatoes
1 sm. can peas, if desired

Slice potatoes very thin and place in bottom of a buttered casserole dish. Add sliced carrots, then sliced onions. Brown beef and sausage; add to the casserole. Put tomatoes on top and bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour. Peas may be added the last 10 minutes. Serve very hot.
