6 c. oats
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/ c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. chopped nuts
1 (6-7 oz.) pkg. chocolate candy stars or kisses

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. Combine oats, flour, and baking soda and set aside. In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, mix well. (Can chill up to two days at this point.)

Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in nuts. Bake 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and press a candy star or kiss into center of each cookie.

Makes approximately 7 dozen.
