2 (3 oz.) pkgs. lemon Jello 2 c. boiling water 2 c. 7-Up 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple 1 c. miniature marshmallows 3 lg. bananas, sliced 1 can mandarin oranges, drained (optional) Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Stir in 7-Up. Chill until partially set. Drain pineapple (save juice). Fold in bananas, pineapple, marshmallows and oranges. Pour into large glass bowl. Chill until firm. Add topping and chill overnight. TOPPING: 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 2 tbsp. flour 2 tbsp. butter 1 c. cream (whipped) 1/2 c. American cheese, shredded Combine flour, sugar, pineapple juice and slightly beaten egg in saucepan. Cook over low heat until thick. Remove from heat, add butter and cool. When cool fold in whipped cream. Spread over Jello and sprinkle with the shredded cheese. |
