FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
1 1/2 lbs. dates, chopped (opt.)
1/2 lb. candied cherries, chopped
1/2 lb. candied pineapple, chopped (1 red, green or yellow)
1 lb. nuts, chopped
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs

Combine fruit and nuts and set aside. Combine dry ingredients and set aside. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and beat well. Mix a part of the dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Stir in fruit mixture. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
