TANGY ORANGE DROPS 
Orange and coconut -- a refreshing combination in this quick, tender cookie.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour*
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
3 tbsp. orange juice
3/4 cup coconut flakes (Bakers)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, creaming well. Add egg; beat well.

Blend in the dry ingredients gradually. Adds orange juice and coconut flakes; mix well.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes.

Frost with Orange Frosting (see below) while warm.

Note: If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

ORANGE FROSTING:

1 tbsp. orange juice
1 tbsp. water
1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar

Add orange juice and water to sifted confectioners’ sugar. Blend well.
