1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. sugar and 2 tbsp. cinnamon (for top of cookies)
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 400°F. Mix shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Mix all ingredients. Shape into balls. Combine cinnamon and sugar in a shallow dish. Roll dough in sugar and cinnamon, coating well.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
