STATE FAIR CORN DOGS 
1 c. flour
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 egg
2 tbsp. shortening

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add milk and slightly beaten egg. Mix quickly until nearly smooth. Pour batter into a tall glass for dunking hot dogs. Fry in hot deep fat until golden brown.
