TEXAS SHEET CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 4 tbsp. cocoa 2 sticks butter 1 c. water 2 eggs 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla Fudgie Frosting Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 13"x11" pan. Mix sugar, flour and cocoa in mixing bowl. In saucepan melt butter in water. When boiling, pour over dry ingredients; beat well. Add eggs; beat well. Dissolve baking soda in milk and add to batter. Beat well, adding vanilla. Pour into pan. Bake about 30 minutes. Leave cake in pan and frost while hot with warm Fudgie Frosting. FUDGIE FROSTING: 1 stick butter 6 tbsp. milk 1 c. marshmallows 1 tbsp. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (16 oz.) box confectioners' sugar 1 c. chopped nuts (opt.) Put butter, milk, cocoa and marshmallows in heavy saucepan. Stir over low heat until marshmallows melt. Blend in confectioners' sugar, beating until smooth. Add nuts. Spread warm frosting on hot cake. |
