CARAMEL APPLES 
1 1/3 c. sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 med. apples
6 sticks

Combine milk, sugars and corn syrup in 3 quart saucepan. Set over medium heat and stir constantly with wooden spoon until all sugar crystals are dissolved. Wash down sides of pan with pastry brushed dipped in hot water. At about 233 degrees, start testing for consistency by dropping a little into ice water. At 239 degrees, remove from heat, dip apples, covering completely. Set on wax paper that has been sprinkled with powdered sugar or chopped nuts.
