3/4 c. soft shortening
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses

Mix above thoroughly. Sift following and add to above:

2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. ginger

These cookies may be rolled or dropped from spoon. If dropped from spoon, frost with powdered sugar while warm.
