THE BEST WAY TO GET STARTED | |
1 hand towel with an attractive pattern of your choice 1 (8 oz.) skein of yarn which matches the hand towel UTENSILS: 1 F crocheting needle 1 pair scissors Masking tape or a vacuum cleaner for clean up Begin by cutting hand towel in half; round bottom corner edges and remove and fringe or thick binding. Using your crocheting needle, begin single crochets (sc) at top right-hand corner. Normally your F needle will make the holes in the towel for you (If this is not possible, use an ice pick or some sharp object--do not go too far ahead of yourself). Continue across towel, ch 2, turn sc back. Do this until you have five rows. At the end of the 5th row start half double crochet (hdc) down side, across bottom, and up side. Be careful not to curl the rounded corners. Sc across top, hdc down side adding 1 extra hdc in every 4th st. +put 2 hdcs in the three top corner sts and 2 hdcs in the bottom corner sts repeat across bottom + repeat corner, repeat up side. Sc across top stitch together every 4th/5th st then repeat from above. Ch 125; sc back to form first tie; sc across top; stitch together every 4th/5th st, ch 125; sc back to form second tie. Going down side; " sc 2 sts tog; slip stitch ch 5 slip stitch same stitch, " repeat " down across bottom and up side. Cut and tie. Apron is now complete. Use vacuum cleaner or masking tape to clean up the floor. Makes 2 servings. Share with a non-crocheting friend. If your apron flops, go out to dinner. Repeat from the beginning tomorrow. |
