HAWAIIAN SWEET AND SOUR HAM | |
2 c. ham (cooked), cut in julienne strips 1 tbsp. salad oil 1 c. pineapple tidbits 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch 3-4 tsp. vinegar 2 tsp. prepared mustard 3/4 c. water 1 green pepper, cut in 1/2 inch squares Brown ham in hot oil. Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. Mix brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar and mustard; stir in reserved syrup and water; add to skillet. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles. Cover, simmer 10 minutes. Add pineapple tidbits and green pepper. Simmer 3-5 minutes. Salt to taste. Makes 4 servings. May be served on cooked rice. |
