BUTTERED FLAVORED RICE 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. thin noodles
1 c. rice
1/2 c. water
1 c. beef or chicken broth
1/4 onion, finely chopped
Dash of salt and freshly ground pepper
Dash of thyme

Melt butter. Add noodles and onion and brown slowly. Slowly add rice. Add broth, water, salt, pepper and thyme. Simmer 25 minutes until done. Serves 4.
