CRISP EASY SWEET PICKLES 
4 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. powdered alum
1 1/2 tbsp. pickling spice
4 c. vinegar
6 c. sugar

Pack cucumbers in a gallon jar. Mix first 4 ingredients. Pour over pickles and fill the rest with water. Shake jar until mixed well. Set aside for 7-8 weeks. Drain. Take pickles out. Cut desired size and slices. Add sugar, 6 cups. Should wait 2 days. Ready to eat, keep jar in refrigerator.
