ELEGANT ORANGE CAKE 
3 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. corn oil butter
1/2 c. corn oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. orange extract
1 c. raisins, finely chopped
1 c. walnuts, finely chopped

Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans. Sift together cake flour, soda and salt; set aside. Cream butter, corn oil and sugar. Gradually beat in eggs and buttermilk alternately with the sifted dry ingredients. Add orange extract. Blend until smooth. Add raisins and walnuts to the mixture. Divide batter into prepared pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes in pans. Turn out on wire racks to finish cooling. Frost tops and sides with Orange Frosting. Garnish with grated orange peel, if desired.

ORANGE FROSTING:

1/3 c. corn oil butter, softened
4 c. (1 lb.) powdered sugar
1/4 c. orange juice

Beat all ingredients together until smooth and creamy. Add additional orange juice, if necessary.
