BAVARIAN SUPPER | |
1 lb. stew meat 1 tbsp. oil 1/3 c. chopped onion 2 1/2 c. water 2 pkgs. mushroom gravy mix 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. vinegar 1 tbsp. caraway seed 2 med. potatoes, pared & cubed 3 c. coarsely shredded cabbage Brown meat, add onion and cook until almost tender. Combine water, gravy mix, brown sugar, vinegar and caraway. Pour over meat, cover and simmer 15 minutes; skim off fat. Meanwhile, cook potatoes and cabbage in salted water until tender; drain. Arrange cabbage and potatoes on platter. Pour meat and sauce over top and serve. |
