APPLE DUMPLINGS 
DOUGH:

2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk

SAUCE:

2 c. brown sugar
2 c. water
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

6 apples, peeled, cored and cut in halves

Mix dough ingredients together and roll out. Cut into squares. Place one apple half on each square. Wet wedges of dough and press into a ball around the apple. Set dumpling in a 9x13 inch pan.

Mix all ingredients together for sauce and pour over the dumplings and bake until fork inserts into the apple easily at 350 degrees.
