CANDAIAN PORK PIE 
2 lbs. lean ground pork
1 lb. ground beef
3 lg. potatoes
1 sm. onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. water

Combine meat, onion, salt, pepper and water. Cook slowly for 45 minutes. Add cloves and cinnamon and cook 15 minutes longer. Let stand so flavors blend. Cook potatoes, mash while hot and mix immediately with meat. Let mixture cool about 1 hour. Place in pie shell, cover with top crust and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

CRUST:

2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk

Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Work in shortening with pastry blender. Stir in milk quickly. More milk may be needed to make dough that is soft and light, but not sticky. Pat on lightly floured board and roll gently to 1/8 inch thick.
