MRS. DAVID BROWNIES 
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1/2 c. oil
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 c. self rising flour
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk

If using plain flour, add 1 teaspoon baking soda and 2 teaspoon baking powder. Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil and add flour. Add sugar, eggs (beaten), and buttermilk. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Spread on icing when it comes out of the oven.

ICING:

1 stick butter
1/3 c. milk
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil and add 1 box confectioners' sugar. Add nuts and pour over brownies while hot.
