2 c. sifted flour 3 tbsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 6 or 7 tbsp. shortening or oil 2/3 c. milk (better use less, 1/2 c.) 2 tbsp. sugar 1 slightly beaten egg Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut into triangle shapes. Place slightly apart on baking sheet. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. I always add 2/3 cups of currants. This makes real English flavor. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 450 degrees. |
