FRUIT COOKIES 
These cookies store well and improve with age.

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. milk
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped mixed candied fruit
1/2 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar with mixer. Add eggs, vanilla and milk. Add sifted dry ingredients. Fold in fruit, raisins and nuts. Drop by spoonful on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes.

Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
