GRAPEFRUIT WINE | |
1 gal. fresh grapefruit juice (white, seedy are best) Pour into 5 gallon water jug. Add: 5 to 10 lbs. sugar Add: Water to 1/2 full Put cap on, turn to side, roll until sugar is dissolved. Set upright, add water to almost full (leave neck with air). Remove cap and apply a water seal (available at specialty gourmet shops or cork with tube that goes into container with water at side of jug) prevents "bugs" getting into jug, allows fermentation gases to escape. Place in cool, dark place. After fermentation finishes, sediment will settle, siphon out into bottles, apply corks, allow to age, the longer the better. |
