HOT CARAMEL SAUCE 
1/2 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tbsp. butter

To caramelize sugar, place in a heavy skillet over low heat. Stir constantly until melted and brown. Place granulated sugar and cream in double boiler and heat to boiling point. Add caramelized sugar and stir until well blended. Remove from heat add butter and vanilla and beat good. Good on pound cake.
