3/4 c. shortening 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 1 egg 4 tbsp. molasses 2 - 2 1/4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 c. white sugar to roll balls in Cream shortening, brown sugar and white sugar. Add beaten egg. Add molasses and 1/2 dry ingredients; mix well. Blend in other 1/2 of dry ingredients. Roll into balls approximate size of walnuts. Dip in sugar and place 1" apart on cookie sheet. Drop 1 drop of water on each cookie. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies will crack into lacy look, water makes glazed look. |
