RAISIN CRISSCROSS COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. ground raisins and chocolate chips

Mix together shortening, sugar, and egg. Stir in milk and lemon extract. Sift flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt together and stir in. Stir in raisins and chocolate chips. Roll into balls size of walnut. Place balls about 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with fork dipped in flour making crisscross pattern. Bake 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
