STUFFED CABBAGE | |
8 lg. cabbage leaves 1/2 lb. ground pork or mild sausage 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 c. rice, cooked 2 eggs 1/4 c. ketchup Salt and pepper, to taste 1 tsp. instant onion flakes 1/2 c. water Wilt cabbage leaves in hot water. Combine pork, beef, rice, eggs, ketchup, and seasonings and mix well. Divide meat mixture into 2 equal portions. Form into loaf shapes. Place four cabbage leaves together and roll around loaf. Repeat for second loaf. Fasten cabbage together with toothpicks. Place in baking dish and pour 1/2 cup water over rolls. Cover and bake at 400 degrees for 60 minutes or until meat is done. If a sauce is desired, remove from oven, add sauce (tomato or other choice) return to oven for 15 minutes. Serves 6. |
