CHRISTMAS CAKE COOKIES 
1 1/2 lb. dates
1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. shelled almonds
1/2 lb. shelled pecans
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. butter
2 eggs

Chop dates into chunks. Quarter cherries. Cut the pineapple into slivers. Chop almonds and toast until brown. Chop pecans. Sift dry ingredients. Work butter until soft. Add sugar gradually. Beat until smooth. Add eggs and beat smooth. Then add dry ingredients, fruits, and nuts. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Cool slightly before removing.
