STEAK IN A POKE | |
1 c. soft bread crumbs 4 oz. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 4 tbsp. butter, softened 4 tbsp. vegetable oil 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 2 tsp. seasoned salt 2 tsp. black or seasoned pepper 2-3 lb. top sirloin steak, 2-2 1/2" thick Large brown in bag Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix bread crumbs and cheese, set aside. Combine butter, oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Trim excess fat from meat. Rub butter mixture into steak, coating all sides. Press crumb and cheese mixture into butter coating so that all sides are covered. Put into brown-in-bag and secure. Follow manufacturer's instructions for use of the bag. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes for medium rare. Remove from bag and let rest at least 5 minutes before carving into thin slices. This is a rich and juicy steak with a unique flavor. It should be served piping hot. |
