LINZER TORTES 
1 c. softened butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Confectioners' sugar
Red raspberry preserves
Donut cutter (to shape cookies)

Mix first 6 ingredients and refrigerate at least 1 hour (or overnight). Roll on lightly floured surface with lightly floured rolling pin. Cut into tops and bottoms and bake at 300 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

Let cool. Fill with raspberry preserves and make "sandwiches" of tops and bottoms. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
