A BIG CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2/3 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2/3 c. cocoa
2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter, add sugar and eggs. Sift all dry ingredients and add alternating with milk and vanilla. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan (or in muffin pan for cupcakes).

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes. For cupcakes 15-20 minutes. I use Betty Crocker Ready-to-Spread Frosting.
