SOUR CREAM SPICE CAKE 
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. each: cloves, cinnamon and allspice
3 egg yolks (save whites)
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream

Cream sugar and shortening. Add spices and egg yolks. Beat well. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Add alternately with sour cream. Lastly fold in beaten egg whites.

Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.

For crumb cake, sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts on top. When done, dot with bits of butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. (You don't have to do this.)
