BUTTERSCOTCH BISCUITS
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. melted butter

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl.

Add shortening, either by mixing in an electric blender at low speed until combined (about 2 minutes) or by cutting shortening into flour mixture with a pastry blender.

Add milk gradually until mixture is firm.

In another bowl combine brown sugar with melted butter until moist.

Roll out dough on floured board until about 1/4" thick.

Spread brown sugar mixture evenly over entire surface of dough.

Slice dough in half lengthwise, then roll up each half tightly.

Cut in 1/2" slices and place in a well greased 9"x9" pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes or until light brown on top. Remove from oven and while hot, turn over into another well greased pan.
