CELERY AU GRATIN CASSEROLE | |
1 bunch celery 4 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 c. grated cheddar cheese 4 tbsp. butter 2 c. milk 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. chopped pimiento 1 tsp. parsley flakes Clean celery and cut up into 1" pieces. Cook in enough water to cover, until tender, then drain. Next, melt butter in saucepan, add flour and stir until smooth. Add salt and milk and parsley flakes, stirring until smooth and thickened. Add cheese, mixing all well together. Put celery into a greased, 1 quart casserole. Sprinkle with pimiento and cover with the smooth and thickened sauce. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake for 30 minutes in 400 degree oven. |
