LEMON MERINGUE CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix
1 egg
1 stick butter

Combine cake mix, butter, and egg in mixing bowl. Press into a 9 x 13 baking pan.

Prepare 1 large (or 2 small) packages of the cooked lemon pie filling mix, or make your own lemon pie filling. Pour over cake mixture.

MERINGUE:

5 egg whites
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

Beat until stiff peaks form. Spread over cake-pie mixture. Bake 25-35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool before cutting.
