CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 c. Crisco shortening
1 1/3 c. butter (soft)
2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
6-7 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. chopped nuts

Mix shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla until creamy. stir in dry ingredients. Mix well, scraping bottom and edges of pan often. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Mix in with heavy spoon. (For softer rounder cookie use the extra flour.)

Drop dough by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from sheets. Bake 375 degrees.
