POPCORN BALLS 
5 qts. popped corn
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. corn syrup
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix everything but popcorn and vanilla in pot and cook to hard ball stage. Add vanilla. Pour over popcorn. Butter hands well and form into balls.

Needs to cook to about 270 degrees. Use a candy thermometer or cook in electric fry pan. Hard ball is when dropped off spoon into cup of water it hits the bottom in a ball and doesn't spread.

Work fast when making balls and hands need to be well buttered.
