2 c. warm milk 1 c. warm water 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 3/4 c. shortening About 7 c. flour Dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in warm water. Beat eggs. Add sugar, milk, salt and enough flour to make soft sponge. Sift flour in large pan and add shortening; mix like for pie crust. Add sponge. Make soft dough; let rise 1 1/2 hours. Roll out or make small buns. Let rise 1/2 hour; punch dough in middle. Put filling in; let rise 15 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees about 25 minutes. |
