2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1 1/2 c. warm milk 1/3 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 egg 1/2 c. butter 5 3/4 c. flour Melted butter Filling of choice STREUSEL TOPPING: 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. flour Melted butter to make crumb mixture Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add all the other dough ingredients except for the flour. Stir in the flour to form a soft dough. Brush with melted butter. Let the dough stand for about 10 minutes. Stir again. Repeat the brushing with butter, letting it stand, and stirring for 3 times. Then let it rise until double. Form small balls using butter on fingers and work surface. Place on cookie sheets and brush with butter again. Put in a warm place to rise until almost double. Make a small indention and add a spoon of filling. Sprinkle with streusel topping. Let rise until baking size. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes turning at halfway point. Brush with butter again after baking and remove from pans. |
